What Is the Social Gospel?
The Social Gospel is the belief that faith is meant to be lived publicly.
That if God places something on your heart — a group of people, an injustice, a broken system — it’s not an accident. It’s because that issue breaks God’s heart too.
The Social Gospel isn’t focused on getting people up into heaven someday. It’s about bringing heaven down to earth — here and now.
It’s faith that shows up in the real world.
Why a Network?
Because you’re not alone — even if it feels that way. Across the country, people are quietly carrying similar callings:
- someone in Ohio with a heart for kids on the autism spectrum
- someone in Arizona working with addiction recovery
- someone advocating for immigrants, housing, racial justice, mental health, or LGBTQ inclusion
Most never find each other.
The Social Gospel Network exists to change that — by helping people connect across geography around shared passions, concerns, and callings.
This isn’t about building a brand or an institution. It’s about bringing people together who already feel called to do something — and helping them realize they don’t have to do it alone.
Joining the Network
When you join the Social Gospel Network, you’ll receive an invite to our private online community.
We’ll ask you to share:
- the issues that matter most to you
- where you’re located (as much or as little as you’re comfortable sharing)
- whether you’re open to connecting with others who share your concerns
This helps us create meaningful connections — not noise.
You’ll also receive:
- Invitations to virtual gatherings (small groups) for members who want to connect face-to-face
- occasional reflections and commentaries from Woke Like Jesus
